Thanks to the good folks, Andrew and Judith, at the Parkdale Free School, a project of the Parkdale Neighborhood Land Trust in so-called Toronto, and Another Story Bookshop, I had the distinct pleasure in June of doing a conversational event sparked by themes in my edited anthology There Is Nothing So Whole as a Broken Heart: Mending the World as Jewish Anarchists (AK Press)—alas, still in the online world. I look forward to the “world to come” when we can gather far more freely again in person, especially in spaces like the free school with its commitment to values such as autonomy, collective action, and the commons.
