Outside the Circle

Siding with Life

And so the fight begins
So it continues, from battles before, battles ahead
Though their history books will teach otherwise

We’re made to whisper to each other
In shadows illuminated by our fires
There, passing on our ancestors’ defiance
Passing on tales of disobedience and tenacity

In the ashes, solidarity
Promises that have no need of bureaucracies and police
Wisdom that has no need of tests or diplomas
Reciprocity that has no need of charity or nonprofits

There is nothing to recommend the life of a rebel
Except life worth living

“Reach for tha lessons tha masked pass on
And seize tha metropolis
It’s you that it’s built on
Everything can change on a new years day . . .
War within a breath
It’s land or death”
— Rage against the Machine
